Noel and I started the group in Aug 2001, after losing our son. We gained so much support from attending the Lyme Group, facilitated by the late Hilary Ravenscroft.
We met others who gave us the strength that we needed and met so many nice people, some of whom we are still in contact with today.
We feel very humble to be in a position to support others going through a difficult time. Seeing positive changes as each one moves forward in their grief is gratifying.
Normally, we meet once a month, face to face and now we use zoom to keep attendees connected and supported until we can reopen. When normal service resumes, we will be planning our annual retreat. It gives attendees the opportunity to have quality time in a peaceful setting with others to support them. Home cooked and locally produced food is included in the weekend break.
We have given talks to the students on the Nightline at Manchester University. Also been invited to give talks to some NHS staff and Wigan Council.
